Jennifer Brand Poetry Contest

When sadness, hope, and love stares into the insightful waters of imagination, art is born. Like a delicious freshwater spring, creativity is the essence of life. It shelters our spirit when she needs to cry, empowers our soul to achieve his goals, and molds our mind into something inspiring. Our imagination is important, and we must cultivate it if we seek to achieve our dreams.

I love art, poetry, and storytelling; and no matter how rocky my road may seem, these passions always remain with me. They have guided me through insurmountable pain, helped stabilize my hope when I was in agony, and reminded me of delightful times when all I knew was suffering.

I want to pass that passion and love for life onto you. I want you to be a powerful force of creativity, someone who knows they are a wellspring of infinite potential and has the force of will to seize every sensational second.

Throughout most of my life I have lived as a lone bee struggling to achieve my dreams. My goals have always been relatively simple; but when we walk through life without a guide, even the simplest goals can seem impossible. This is not how things are meant to be. We are supposed to have mentors and lantern bearers holding a light above our head, so we may see the path before us. I found my way by fumbling through existence, and though I have found peace, it was achieved through a tremendous degree of suffering.

I want to show you the way, so your days can be more spectacular than great. I want you to experience the positive highlights of life without the speckled seconds of strife.

One of the greatest moments of my life, was when I was daring enough to submit a short story into a writing competition. I was hopeful, but I did not expect my work to be accepted, but when it was, I felt one of the greatest delights of my life. The joy and surprise I felt in my eyes supercharged my passion and has been the greatest source of inspiration throughout my entire life.

I want you to feel this. I want you to know there is something inside of you that no level of censorship can control. I want you to know the hope I have known, and one day perhaps you will serve as guide, by being the light in someone else’s life.

This is the heart of this poetry contest and I hope it has inspired you to submit something astoundingly spectacular!

By submitting a poem, you are stating that you agree to the rules and conditions of this contest.

1. Eligibility: The contest is open to all poets who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Jennifer Brand LLC, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
2. Agreement to Rules: By participating, the Contestant (“You”) agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, You agree to accept the decisions of Jennifer Brand LLC as final and binding as it relates to the content of this Contest.
3. Contest Period: Entries will be accepted online starting on September 25, 2023, and ending October 31, 2023. All online entries must be received by October 31, 2023].
4. How to Enter: The Contest must be entered by submitting an entry using the online form provided at fatherowl.com. The entry must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Jennifer Brand LLC. You may enter only once.
5. Original Content: By submitting an entry to this poetry contest, the contestant represents and warrants that the poem is an original work created solely by the contestant, and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights, including but not limited to copyright or trademark rights. The contestant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers of the contest from any claims arising from their submission.
6. Prizes: The Winner(s) of the Contest (the “Winner”) will receive a $100 Gift Card to Jennifer Brand Spa. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at Jennifer Brand LLC’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable.
7. Winner Selection and Notification: Winner will be selected by a panel of judges under the supervision of Jennifer Brand LLC. Winner will be notified on Jennifer Brand’s Facebook page within five (5) days following selection of Winner. Jennifer Brand LLC shall have no liability for Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information.
8. Rights Granted by You: By entering this content (e.g., photo, video, text, etc.), You understand and agree that Jennifer Brand LLC, Shawn White, anyone acting on behalf of [Jennifer Brand LLC and Jennifer Brand LLC licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the World, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation.
