Sometimes we are so overwhelmed by life it is difficult to see beyond our strife. Every task feels impossible and everything we do seems to weigh us down like we were stuck inside a giant tub of glue. Today I want to offer you a clue. It is so simple it will feel like you are receiving life lessons from the cartoon Scooby Doo.

No matter how challenging life may seem, no matter how painful your suffering may be, you will once again experience sensational scenes.

Unfortunately, if you are in a place that is far from peaceful these words will sound like nothing more than poetic platitudes. But I can assure you, they come from a place of honesty and truth.

I have known harrowing hardships of anguish and unrelenting pain. I have tasted the unforgiving threat of a terrible death. I have been broken into bits and busted into dust. I know how it feels to be overwhelmed, to be lost and afraid of what is waiting within the shadows of the day.

So, I can say with absolute certainty that no matter how challenging life may seem, no matter how painful your suffering may be, you will once again experience sensational scenes.

It is challenging to realize that life is going to get better because we can’t see beyond our current circumstance. In these seconds we forget that we have known better times. We have also watched woeful moments become wonderful ones.

In these seconds it is absolutely essential to search for scenes that were once marvelous. It is important to do this so we can see beyond our seconds of suffering. We need a reminder that happiness and peace is well within the realms of reality.

We achieve this with simple successes. This may start with something as minor as brushing our teeth, changing our socks, combing our hair, or adjusting the clock. We have to prove to ourselves that we are capable of finishing tasks that are seemingly insignificant. Once we have earned our own respect, we can accomplish things of significance.

Having a taste for how it feels to be further than we were before gets us back on track to reclaim our baseline. This can happen fast, or lurch forward like a snail in the sand.

One of the neat things about getting back on the right track is we often forget how horrible things were. We become so sucked into the second that all of our suffering becomes a distant memory.

In this state it is difficult to know that our life will once again be terrible. Just like pain, it is challenging to see beyond the delightfulness of the day.

I believe the key to solving this hardship is by seeking harmony with our pain when we are in the throes of pleasure and peace. As with all emotions and states we must develop a relationship with them. They must be romanced; this means thinking about them in their absence and taking the steps to ensure they feel loved and respected.
