In 2018 I created, organized, and lead the Dungeon Crawl for the Cure. It was a competitive multi–DM Dungeons and Dragons event designed to fundraise $1,000 for the Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network. This amazing organization serves as an invaluable resource for individuals diagnosed with NET Cancer. Our event blew past all expectations and generated over $7,000 from a single day of gaming.
I’m going to run this again. It will have every ounce of excitement, fun and mystery as the first event with a stronger all player collaborative element. To achieve this, I need passionate people who want to contribute their imaginative energy toward a good cause.
In the game’s current design, the players will enter a massive dungeon with the goal of stopping a godlike being from destroying the world. Symbolically the final boss represents the looming threat of cancer and the sacrifices we have to make to defeat it. Winners of the event will be selected based on numerous categories such as heroism, teamwork, problem solving, and roleplay. Prizes will be awarded to the first place of each category and everyone at the event will be celebrated with good food and many thankyous.
We are currently starting development of this project. If you are interested in getting involved reach out to me on Facebook and let’s make this event a reality. As this project develops, I will add updates to this page, so check back again.
